About McGreevy Law
McGreevy Law is a Kansas City-based personal injury law firm serving clients throughout Kansas and Missouri. We maintain a select caseload so we can spend more time understanding each client's unique needs, preparing each case carefully, and providing comprehensive guidance from the first conversation forward.
Focusing on Value Over Volume
McGreevy Law was founded on the concept that all clients deserve quality legal representation, regardless of case size or severity of injury. That concept arises from a steadfast belief in your constitutional right to access the court system to seek accountability and redress for injuries caused by others.
Rather than handle a high volume of cases, we are select and limited, giving each client’s claims the attention they deserve. That means taking the time to understand what really happened, answer your questions, and prepare every case based on its own facts. That also means telling potential clients we aren’t the best firm for their claims. When that happens, we do our best to recommend quality attorneys here in the Kansas City area, or nationally if necessary.
Clients can expect:
- Clear communication throughout their case
- Time to ask questions and understand their options
- Honest conversations about strengths, risks, and next steps
- Careful preparation for trial
- A legal strategy shaped around the facts of each case and each client’s goals
Meet Joe McGreevy
Joe McGreevy is a personal injury attorney licensed in Kansas and Missouri. His Kansas City-based practice focuses on helping individuals and families who have been injured or killed in auto accidents, explosions, fires, industrial accidents, dog bites, shootings, or by defective or unreasonably dangerous products.
Before starting McGreevy Law, Joe spent years representing a variety of clients across many areas of law. That broad experience gave him a deep understanding of how injury claims are evaluated, investigated, and defended. Today, he brings that perspective to every case the firm handles.
Why Joe Chose to Represent Injured People
Before starting McGreevy Law, Joe spent years representing defendants, often through their insurance companies. Over time, he realized he felt more strongly about representing injured people and their families instead of defending those cases.
Today, he uses that experience to prepare cases thoughtfully, negotiate from an informed position, and, when necessary, take cases to trial. His goals are simple: help clients understand their rights; advocate for their interests; assist them through a difficult time with honesty and clear communication; and obtain a fair and satisfactory result for each client.
Prepared for the Direction the Case Requires
No two injury cases are exactly alike.
Many claims resolve through negotiation before a lawsuit is ever filed. Others require filing a lawsuit or even trial. McGreevy Law approaches every case with careful preparation from the start so clients are ready for whichever direction their case takes.
While not every case goes to trial, every case should be prepared with that possibility in mind. At McGreevy Law, we treat every case like trial may be necessary.

Kansas City has always been McGreevy Law’s home. Not only did Joe found McGreevy Law in Kansas City, but he’s also lived and practiced in Kansas City since he graduated from law school. He and his family are proud to call KC home.
Outside the office, Joe is committed to serving the Kansas City community through volunteer work, mentoring, and supporting local organizations. Those commitments reflect the same values he brings to his practice—showing up, listening, and helping people navigate difficult situations.
Joe is particularly committed to Gift of Life Kansas City, where he has been a Community Partner for the last three years, committing over $20,000 in donations during that time. Gift of Life is a national model for the support, awareness, and success of organ, eye, and tissue donation through education, mentoring, and collaboration with partners and individuals in the transplant community.
Joe is also heavily involved in mentoring the next generation of young attorneys. Both through the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation’s Student Law Program, or through the mentorship program offered through his alma mater, University of Kansas School of Law, Joe makes himself available to answer questions and provide guidance to young future attorneys who may not otherwise have connections or access to the legal field.
